Ten years ago, I felt invincible.
Like I could outwork the clock, outrun stress, and out-focus anyone in the room. I didn’t even drink coffee back then (wild, I know). But life had its own plot twist in store.
That plot twist?
A tiny, walnut-sized gland in my brain called the pituitary.
Spoiler: it runs the show. Hormones, mood, metabolism, sleep—you name it. And when something goes wrong with it, like a pituitary tumor, life starts feeling… very upside down.
I didn’t even know what the pituitary gland was before mine threw everything into chaos.
When Mental Health Isn’t Just Mental
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme is Community.
But let’s be honest: when your health issues are invisible, you often feel like you’re carrying them solo. That’s especially true for people living with chronic conditions or rare health issues like pituitary disorders.
You don’t “look sick.”
You might still show up.
You might even smile while barely staying upright.
And yet, inside? You’re navigating hormone havoc, crushing fatigue, and the kind of brain fog that makes you forget why you walked into a room.
This isn’t just about physical health—it’s a mental health story, too.
💜 Raising Awareness for Pituitary Conditions
Millions of people live with pituitary tumors, hormonal imbalances, and neuroendocrine conditions—and many are misdiagnosed or misunderstood for years. That delay causes so much unnecessary suffering.
That’s why I wanted to write this.
Not to talk about symptoms (you can find those in plenty of medical articles), but to remind you:
- You are not alone.
- Your struggle is valid—whether it’s visible or not.
- You deserve a community that gets it.
Who’s Doing the Work: Support That Matters
If you’re reading this and nodding quietly (or shouting “YES” at your screen), I want you to know there are people and organizations out there who understand.
One I personally admire is The Pituitary Foundation.
They offer:
- Patient support groups & events
- Psychological help for those navigating long-term illness
- A safe space to ask questions, vent, or just feel less alone
They’re doing the quiet, important work of reminding us that invisible illness deserves visible support.
Why ErdeGora Cares
ErdeGora isn’t just about cool leggings, nerdy mugs, or cozy lifestyle hacks for techies (though we love those too). It’s about balance.
It’s about rebooting life when systems glitch—physically, mentally, or emotionally.
I built ErdeGora after going through years of burnout, brain fog, and the endless loop of “is it just stress?”
Sometimes, it isn’t just stress. Sometimes it’s your hormones, your pituitary, your nervous system… or all of it combined.
So this Mental Health Awareness Week, I wanted to share something more than a product or a post.
I wanted to share the reason I keep going—and the hope I hold for a gentler, more understanding world.
What You Can Do This Week
Learn about the pituitary gland. Seriously. It’s fascinating and misunderstood.
- Check in on friends who are “always tired.” Not in a joking way—really ask.
- Share this post if it made you think of someone.
Remember: mental health isn’t just about what we feel, but what we carry.
Thanks for reading, erde humans. Whether you’re battling silently or just learning something new—I see you. And if you ever want to chat about invisible health, resilience, or how to make baguette-eating part of a balanced lifestyle… you know where to find me.
With warmth, carbs & a side of honesty,
❤️🖖🎈
